MFT Color Palette Challenge

This is my first time participating in the MFT Color palette challenge. I hope to do so every week as soon as I can get more paper ordered! I have been working on depleting my stash of paper. So far, so good.

The card base is from Kraft cardstock, the panels are cut from Blueprints 1 and 2. I stamped the Sheet Music Background stamp onto Nightshift blue paper with my Nighshift blue ink. Circle is fuse green and "birthday" stamped onto vellum with Versamark ink, and black embossing powder to top it off!

Happy Birthday!

I had a minute this morning to make a card! I got a day off from work. Isn't that the best? I've been so busy. I work every single day (which I really enjoy), but by the time I get home from work I am so exhausted and my body aches, that my first desire is to relax. Let me show you the card I made!

I used MFT 161 Sketch as inspiration.

A close up:

I used Blueprints 6 from MFT for the cute doily, fishtail flags layers STAX for the left panel (I trimmed the pointed ends off :) )

paper: Fancy Pants, The Good Life 6x6 paper pad
copic markers
sequins from Hobby Lobby
sentiment: Amy R. Sweet Sentiments
stamped image: C.C. Designs Birthday Lucy
tombow MOno Multi glue to attach the sequins.

Cupcakes make everything better

I took this photo and uploaded it, not even thinking to make sure the entire thing was in focus.. So the sentiment at the bottom is slightly fuzzy, sorry! But it looks really good in person :)

Once again, my copic skills are needing some improvement, I received them for Christmas! (I was SO excited!) So I'm in the process of improving my coloring skills. If you have any tips, send them my way. Please.

supplies:
paper-I used all scraps on this one, not sure the brand.
dies- MFT pierce circle STAX, I also used the small oval punch from Stampin' Up!
stamps- the sentiment is from Amy R's Sweet Sentiments rubber stamps
copic markers

Ha! My eyes are killing me. I keep glancing up at the photo and having the bottom portion not in focus is driving me crazy, you'd think I would go ahead and take another picture... too lazy i guess!

Before I forget, check out the Seize the Birthday Blog! I'm linking this card to their site.

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

Have a Sweet Day

It has been way too long since i've submitted anything for the MOJO monday challenge. But I looked at the current sketch and knew I wanted to play along. (I'm a big fan of simple).

I have a confession to make, I just got copic markers for Christmas. I'm a beginner card maker. So I've been experiment with some of my markers, and I'll be honest, I didn't even think to write down the colors I used. I apologize in advance because I've made a few other cards and have used my copic markers without taking note of the colors I used. I've learned my lesson :)

Here's my card.

CAS(E) this sketch #57-enjoy your special day

Yay for days off and having time to craft! I've spent a chunk of my afternoon making cards. I love days when I can do that. My husband is studying for finals, so I was able to entertain myself.

For my card, I used a black card stock as my base, then all of the designer paper is from Fancy Pants 6x6 paper pack, It's a Wonderful Day.

The circle's were cut out using MFT's pierced circle stax.

Here's the inside:

Simple Happy Birthday

I had some time after work to make a few birthday cards. I really like how these turned out! I went for the simple flat look. These are a standard A2 card.

MFT's Color Box inks used: Banana split,  Tangy Orange, Gumdrop Green, Blu Raspberry, and Razzle Berry.

MOJO 314

My body is so sore. I've been trying to get back into an exercise routine, and it is kickin' my butt! I'm about ready to fall asleep on my laptop. With that aside, here is my card for the MOJO 314 challenge:

I have been making a card about every other day, but I haven't posted ANY of them. I finally had to make a goal that I would actually take a photo of the card and upload them. So I'm starting today :) I'll be honest, I've never "fully participated" in a card challenge before! I will tell you that I have looked at the MOJO sketches weekly, and Sweet Sunday Sketch, with a handful of other challenges and I've made a card... but once again I never uploaded them. My apologies.

A lovely birthday

This card reminds me of fall. I love the fall! The browns, oranges, reds, etc. What a beautiful time of the year. When making this card I had my sister-in-law Angela in mind. She likes animal print, and yet she's very classy so the stamp from MFT brings in a little elegance to the spunky leopard print.

Let's Celebrate YOU

Truth is, I started this card last night. I ran out of adhesive! My husband and I had to make a run to the store last night before Archivers closed so that I'd be able to finish this card. I think I turned out great! I need tips on how to take better pictures of my cards, the lighting doesn't seem to be working well. Which in turn, doesn't do justice for the paper on each card.  However, in time my photos will improve!

I love using hemp cord! It's an addiction I have.

I'm a beginner...

I'm most definitely a beginner when it comes to card making, but I've found something that I enjoy doing! I thought I'd create this blog to share some of my card creations. I'm limited on supplies, but I work with what I've got. Enjoy!
The blue tag can be pulled out. I left it blank so as the person giving the card away could
add a few words of their own to it.

I love this card. Simplicity is beautiful.

What I like about this card: It can be used for many occasions.
