Hello. Case this sketch

Each time I get in a creative rut, I turn to Case This Sketch for inspiration. The simplicity of the sketches is electrifying. It reminds me that cards don't need to be over-the-top, using 30 different products to look good. Often times, simple is better. Less is more.

So thank you for the inspiring sketches that get me out of the ruts I often find myself in!

Take a look at sketch 152:

Here's my take on it:

Supplies from:
Simon Says Stamp
My Favorite Things

Recipe:
sentiment-die from Simon Says Stamp

I used a stencil from My Favorite Things and sponged in Banana Split ink that had been masked off into a circle.

I then inked up the falling snow background stamp from MFT with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and then added white embossing powder and heat set it. I used my ATG to adhere the panel to the card base

The hello sentiment was cut out of Steel Gray yardstick from MFT and was layered 3 times to add dimension.

To finish it off, I added some gold thread behind the sentiment, and a scrap of striped cardstock to the left side to add a finishing touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

All products used on my card are from My Favorite Things

MFT Color challenge

I will be completely honest here, I have no idea if the cardstock I made the doily out of is factory green! I had some scraps from the MFT cardstock sampler, and I'm not sure what color it is that I used. So if this card is disqualified then that's fine by me!

I don't have Cherry Crisp cardstock so I used Electric red to cut out the "hello" die from Simon Says Stamp. Blueprints1 and 2 were used for the layered panels and tag.

Sending you joy

I haven't participated in an MFT challenge for several weeks now. Life got busy! I can't believe Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK! Is anyone else shocked by this?

moving on to the card, here's the sketch.

I used Steel Gray cardstock for my main panel, cut out a circle in grout gray using the pierced circle STAX and then used the lace background stamp and inked that with grout gray premium dye ink. The flag was cut from Electric red cardstock, and then one of MFT's butterflies cut and embossed on vellum.

The sentiment I selected is from Simon Says Stamp.

Stamping Bella

Hello again!

I love, love, love stamping bella images! They are the cutest.

This go around, I paper pieced both dresses using Fancy Pants Wonderful Day 6x6 paper pack.
Then finished by coloring the image with copic markers.

Birthday BOY

I love the watercolor trend that has hit card making. I've been messing around with my distress inks and came up with this card.

Very simple. And not bulky (although I LOVE bulky cards! I have to restrain myself from applying foam tape on every single card).
